There is such a great story behind this pendant - I wanted to share it with you!
The Chinese turquoise pendant in Ancient Olive Grove has been in my beading stash for some time - it is such a special piece I was unwilling to let it go! I accquired this from some very eclectic suppliers - they have some amazing things in their inventory - and this pendant was just one of many pendants which they managed to purchase from a collector. From memory, the collector had a huge amount of turquoise, and the pieces were apparently all collected in China in the 1950's - all the turquoise is all untreated, undyed and unstabilised. Most turquoise has been "enhanced" in some way, so this is extremely rare. I also love the unusual setting surrounding the pendant. I really feel that by wearing this necklace, you will be wearing a tiny piece of history!
I simply strung this with green lined agate (my current favourite new stone!), Czech glass, rustic peridot wheels, and more turquoise (this is most likely treated and dyed). The colours within this design are so warm and earthy - definitely a great addition to a "warm tones" wardrobe!
Until next time, take care!
